Est. 1910 · Rebuilt 2017–2024 · Now sailing

Hi! I'm Leo, and I'm a boatbuilder and a sailor.

Tally Ho is a historic wooden sailboat that I bought for $1 and rebuilt with the help of an incredible community. Now I'm sailing her back to the UK for the 2027 Fastnet Race.

The Story

Three acts, one boat.

The Wreck

Act I · 2017

The Wreck

Found rotting on stands in Brookings Harbor, Oregon. I bought her for $1 from the Albert Strange Association and moved her 600 miles to the Olympic Peninsula.

The Rebuild

Act II · 2017–2024

The Rebuild

Seven years of blood, sweat, and tears — and an amazing group of people came together to make it possible. Funded entirely by the community that grew around the videos.

The Voyage

Act III · 2024–2027

The Voyage

14,000 miles from the Pacific Northwest to the UK. Through the Panama Canal, across the Caribbean and the Atlantic. The goal: the 2027 Fastnet Race — the centenary of her original victory.

With a little help from my friends...
